From 2 to 6 July 2025, the Rijeka Open took place at the Kantrida swimming pool complex in Rijeka. This year saw a record number of participants, which even the organisers had not anticipated. With 283 participants, it was the largest event we have ever photographed.

The competitions took place in age groups A, B, C, D and Men/Women, with participants coming from Croatia, Great Britain, the USA, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Monaco, Switzerland, Serbia, Poland, Hungary and Dubai. The largest number of participants came from Great Britain (87), followed by the USA (74), Croatia (33) and Germany (31).

Due to the large number of participants and the sometimes enormous scope of the competitions, we were unable to photograph every competition in its entirety. In addition, we had to leave for the next event on the last day of competition and therefore had to skip the competitions on that day.

Viewing, sorting and editing the photos took over a month, during which we worked at least 7-8 hours every day, sometimes even longer. A total of over 40,000 photos are online, more than ever before from a single event.

Nevertheless, there are a large number of photos available for most participants. When purchasing photo sets, it is advisable to check the number of photos, but only in very few cases is it not worth buying a photo set. In any case, there are enough individual photos available.
