egWohnen Juniors Trophy 2024

Lausitzarena Cottbus - The annual Juniors Trophy took place for the 37th time from October 10 to 13, 2024. The competition, organized by SC Cottbus Turnen, brought together gymnasts from several nations for the all-around competition on the six Olympic apparatus, the Quick Time Challenge, the individual finals and the U21 competition, which took place for the first time this year.

After the Olympic Games in Paris in summer, the Juniors Trophy took place in October this time. In total, gymnasts from 9 countries made their way to Lausitz, including teams from Great Britain, Italy, Lithuania, Austria, Poland, Scotland, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and the host country Germany, which was well represented with teams from Bavaria, Berlin, Bochum, Lower Saxony, Team Germany and the hosts from Cottbus.

Even though the event was held on a somewhat smaller scale this year, it was still an eventful and, as always, professionally organized competition. As a special form of competition, the Quick Team Challenge took place for the second time this year, in which 6 gymnasts from a team compete on one apparatus in direct succession. In addition to the new U21 competition, the all-around competition in the age groups 10 to 18, including finals, also took place again.

The total of 94 gymnasts, of which Austria and the Czech Republic were the strongest with 11 young gymnasts each, competed in three age groups for the all-around victory and the title of team winner as well as for the places for the finals on the individual apparatus.

On Sunday, directly after the finals, the Bundesligateam of SC Cottbus Turnen met the KTV Straubenhardt, another highlight of the weekend.
