Cancellation of some events for 2026

We had already announced this in the past. Now the time has come.

Our turnover in April, May and June was so low that we can no longer even cover our costs. In June, our income was so low that we couldn’t even cover the cost of the server.

For this reason, as you may have noticed from the lack of updates, we have already had to cancel a number of events.
We simply haven’t raised enough funds to travel to the events. Travel costs, accommodation costs and so on have risen, whilst our income has been steadily falling.

We have already cancelled a number of events for the coming months – particularly in Diving, but also in Gymnastics – which we had actually firmly planned. The photos from Rome will probably be ready by the end of July. We’ll be away at several consecutive events from next week onwards and won’t be able to edit any photos until then.

We were well aware that the changes required under data protection legislation would be the death of us in March 2025. If people can no longer view any photos without registering first, where on earth is the interest supposed to come from?

So what happens next?

We paid for the next events already at the start of the year. We’ll be going ahead with those. And after that, we’ll have to take it one step at a time. If orders remain at the same level as they have been over the last three months, we’ll have to wind things down for the most part by 2027.

We don’t know what the problem is and we’ve really reached the end of our tether. We work seven days a week, haven’t had a holiday for over 20 years and, apart from the enforced break due to the coronavirus, we don’t have any days off. Our photos are praised almost everywhere, but we can’t live on praise alone.

What are we doing wrong? We’re at a loss.
