2025 - 28th Junior Team Cup

28th International Junior Team Cup Berlin 2025

This time, the 28th Junior Team Cup took place in May and not in March or April as usual. On 16 and 17 May 2025, athletes from all over the world once again competed peacefully against each other in the Great Sports Hall at the Sportforum Berlin.

This year, the teams came from France, Great Britain, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Hungary. For Germany, the National Team and teams from Bavaria, Chemnitz, Cottbus, Swabia and, of course, Berlin took part in the competitions.

Team Italy 1 won the team competition ahead of Team Great Britain and Team Italy 2, meaning that the very strong Italians had two teams on the podium. They were followed by Team Spain in 4th place and Team Switzerland in 5th place

The winner in age group 1, which once again had the largest number of gymnasts with 48, also came from Italy: Simone Speranza (76.350 points) beat his compatriot Luca Leone Manzaneda (75.100 points) and Ben Schumacher from Switzerland (74.950 points).

In age group 2, which with 43 gymnasts was almost as strong as age group 1, the Ukrainian Volodymyr Golovin (74.300 points), who already won age group 3 last year, won ahead of Samuel Wachter from Austria (73.700 points) and Otger Carreres from Spain (73.400 points). The best German in this age group was Zeno Csuka from Team Germany in 4th place.

In contrast to last year, there were no explicit ‘medal collectors’ in the final competitions in age group 1 this time. Zakaine Fawzi from Great Britain (1x gold, 1x silver) and Tomas Kalinic from the Czech Republic (1x gold, 1x bronze) were the most successful here.

It was a slightly different story in the other age groups. In the finals of age group 2, Volodymyr Golovin from Ukraine won 3x gold and 1x silver, Samuel Wachter from Austria won 2x gold, Otger Carreres from Spain won 3x silver and 1x bronze.

The most successful gymnast in age group 3 was Kaydn Jackson from Great Britain with 3x gold, 1x silver and 1x bronze, Amit Kampinsky from Israel won 1x gold and 1x silver, as did Riquelme Wajwaka from the Netherlands. Tyler Traore-Malatre was successful for France with 1x silver and 2x bronze, Josef Jaffer from Team Germany won 1x silver and 1x bronze.

It was remarkable that there were 3 gold medals in this age group on the rings, as Kaydn Jackson (GBR), Jaques Anselm (FRA) and Amit Kampinsky (ISR) had the same score of 11.650 points. The gold medal for Harvey Halter on the pommel horse was pleasing from Berlin's point of view.
