It took a few days longer than expected. But it's a very big update: all general photos, award ceremonies, and group photos. Individual photos of the teams from Bavaria, Berlin, Bochum, Chemnitz, Cottbus, Germany, Finland, Great Britain, Halle, and Italy are also being imported. The rest of the photos will follow in a second upload in a few days.

Original message from October 13, 2025 / 12:00 p.m.

The 38th egWohnen Juniors Trophy came to an end on October 12, 2025, with the finals. We are now back home and have already started copying the photos to our data storage devices. We will begin sorting through the photos today and hope to have the first ones ready by the end of the week. However, we cannot promise this, as we will be back at the Nachwuchsliga Nord (Northern Youth League) taking photos next weekend.

We would like to thank SC Cottbus Turnen once again for this wonderful event and for their support. For several decades now, the Juniors Trophy has been one of the most important international events in junior gymnastics.

We were there since 2009 for the 17th time in a row, back when the competition in Cottbus was still called the GWG Cup. This makes the Juniors Trophy one of the events we have attended most frequently, alongside the Junior Team Cup in Berlin. The competition has also become a tradition for us.

In addition to the all-around competition for age groups ranging from 12 (and younger) to 18, this year's Juniors Trophy also featured the Lausitz Cup for U23 gymnasts for the second time, which we naturally also covered.

You can find first impressions of this event on our Instagram channel @sportfotos_berlin

The gymnasts also competed together as a team in the Quick Team Challenge for the second time:
Six gymnasts from each team (ideally two gymnasts from age groups I, II, and III) compete directly after each other on one apparatus. As soon as the exercises are completed and scored, the next team starts. It's an exciting competition that also poses a challenge for us photographers, as the exercises are performed directly one after the other without interruption.

Some statistics about the Juniors Trophy:

Photographer 1:
75,286 photos of raw data, occupying 734 GB of storage space
Photographer 2:
64,278 photos of raw data, occupying 640 GB of storage space

Time spent on competition:
28.5 hours (per photographer) over 3.5 days

Estimated time for sorting and editing photos:
approx. 180 hours (per photographer)

Estimated number of photos after editing:
approx. 25,000

Why are there “only” so few photos compared to the raw data?
Blurry photos, etc., are deleted, and since the cameras take a lot of photos per second (up to 20), there are naturally a lot of photos that are almost identical. Of course, only individual photos are selected from series of images (twists on the floor, takeoff at the vaulting table, aerial element on the high bar).

In short:
Generally, only the best photos are used, and the rest are discarded.
